Ticket to Dublin is a festival of live Irish music, with some of the fastest growing bands in Ireland. Last year, Little Green Cars joined us in Moscow, as well as the singer Cathy Davey, and acts from The Walls. This year, we are expecting one of the biggest newcomers in Ireland – Myles Manley. The Russian public will have the chance to see him first, before the British festivals begin in the summer! The group Spies, which have mixed the traditional guitar style of U2 and the vocals of American post-punk revival, will be travelling. Also present will be Costello, a hip-hop rapper from Dublin who has become one of the main stars of the documentary ‘Broken Song’.
The names of these bands you have probably already heard of, but you’ll have to admit that you’ve probably always thought they are British. Well actually, they’re not! The music scene is Ireland isn’t actually as modest as it may seem and, apart from U2, the country possesses many more interesting and impressive groups. Ticket to Dublin is an annual showcase of live Irish bands, which you will definitely never see except for on island festivals. We are bringing this festival here, to Moscow.
