On 20th March all lovers of independent cinema, shortcuts, and movies, in general, will have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with one of the most progressive forms of contemporary art – video art.

Video art was established in the 1960s in the West. The genre is represented by such world-wide famous artists like Andy Warhol, Nam June Paik, Valie Export, and many others.

Today many museums and galleries research video art problematics. There are, also, special festivals where authors from all around the world have an opportunity to show their works to a wide range of audiences.

“Zvezda” movie theatre will demonstrate some of the most interesting art pieces made by Irish representatives of the genre: Garret Daly, Dermot McNevin, Mairéad McClean, Helouise O’Reilly. Each author has his own remarkable and recognizable style. In their videos, artists raze themes like frailty of life and time, discuss history, traditions, and superstitions.

The event will be accompanied by the discussion with the audience.
